If your like me, you may or may not have noticed that Star Wars Galaxies isn't detected by Xfire. Since Sony changed the paths of the installation directory and the names of some of the exe's the game will not be detected until xfire updates this change. Well I was bored and fed up with not being able to talk to my friends while in game. So I searched the Internet and to my amazement wasn't able to find a single topic on the subject. So I quickly searched the Xfire directory and in only a few seconds found and easy and obvious solution, and after 2 attempts managed to save the day. If you want the quick fix follow these instructions.

1.) Go to "C:\Program Files\Xfire" or wherever you installed xfire (Different on Vista)

2.) open xfire_games.ini

3.) Search for "Galaxies" so you can jump straight to the line that needs to be changed without wasting time looking.

4.) The first line that comes up should be this:

[4109_1]
LongName=Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided
ShortName=swgaed
LauncherDirKey=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\LaunchPad.exe\Path
LauncherExe=LaunchPad.exe
DetectDirKey=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\StarWarsGalaxies\Path
DetectExe=SwgClient_r.exe
Launch=%UA_LAUNCHER_EXE_PATH% /game:starwars %UA_LAUNCHER_EXTRA_ARGS% %UA_LAUNCHER_NETWORK_ARGS%
InGameRenderer=D3D9
InGameFlags=ENABLE_MOUSE|USE_DINPUT_MOUSE
DetectServer=FALSE
CanaryFlags=SONYSTATION
RunElevated=1

Copy that entire line and overwrite it with this:

[4109_1]
LongName=Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided
ShortName=swgaed
LauncherDirKey=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\StationLauncher.exe\Path
LauncherExe=StationLauncher.exe
DetectDirKey=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\SwgClient_r.exe\Path
DetectExe=SwgClient_r.exe
Launch=%UA_LAUNCHER_EXE_PATH% /game:starwars %UA_LAUNCHER_EXTRA_ARGS% %UA_LAUNCHER_NETWORK_ARGS%
InGameRenderer=D3D9
InGameFlags=ENABLE_MOUSE|USE_DINPUT_MOUSE
DetectServer=FALSE
CanaryFlags=SONYSTATION
RunElevated=1

5.) Save xfire_games.ini with the changes made. And Don't forget to Restart Xfire otherwise the changed won't take effect.

Now go back into Xfire and SWG should be auto-detected... However if it isn't go to Tools > Options > Games and find SWG (Empire Divided) on the list and manually add it by browsing to the directory. If that doesn't work then you may have done something wrong.

Enjoy...

(The Paths in this fix are under the assumption that you have Station Launcher and Star Wars Galaxies in their default directories as showed to you during Installation. If not this fix won't work... Although if your not sure it won't do any damage to make the changes and see. If it doesn't work for you it is not necessary to change the [4109_1] line back to it's original text but if you wish to just copy the original [4109_1] from the instructions as it is the original line from the ini.)

Yes because this is easier to use than the Manual Detect feature, grats.

Manual Detect doesn't work... Xfire looks for "Launcher.exe". There is no Launcher.exe you have to change what xfire looks for and that's what this does.

Not everyone uses the new Station Launcher. I always install from disks so I don't have to use the new one.

It's already been noted to add another code entry for SWG.
